What to expect

The process begins with an introductory meeting where Jayne meets with the parents/guardians to discuss the child's situation and how art psychotherapy could help. The child can also attend. During this meeting, the format and process of the sessions are explained, and it's the child's choice whether to proceed with therapy.
The child then begins with three introductory sessions to familiarize themselves with the space and process. After these, the child, their parents, and Jayne meet to review the sessions and assess if the therapy is beneficial.
Following the introductory period, therapy continues in blocks of 6-8 sessions, with regular reviews after each block. These reviews allow the child to share progress, and both the child and their family can provide feedback.
Sessions occur at the same time each week, in the same room, with the same materials to maintain consistency.
