About Me
Hi there,
My name is Jayne Walsh. I am a Child Art Psychotherapist based in Cork with experience in supporting children and young people across various community, school, and community health settings.
When working with children, I follow a psychodynamic framework that places the child at the centre of the therapeutic journey. I focus on creating a secure, non‑judgmental environment where children feel free to explore their inner world.
I work with young people navigating a broad spectrum of emotional and mental health challenges, including:
-Anxiety and excessive worry
-Attachment difficulties, such as separation anxiety or struggles in forming secure relationships
-Children who have experienced trauma or significant loss, including bereavement, family upheaval, or other significant life events.
In addition to my clinical work, I am also a guest lecturer in the Child Art Psychotherapy programs at University College Dublin , where I share insights from my practice and contribute to the training of future therapists.
Qualifications:
BA Fine Art
Diploma in Counselling studies
MSc Child Art Psychotherapy
Post Masters Child Art Psychotherapy Advanced Clinical Training
